Therefore I HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the WVU ASCE, its event committee, officers, members, volunteers, sponsors, other participants, officials, West Virginia University, and the West Virginia University Board of Trustees, all for the purposes herein referred to as "Released Party", from all liability to me, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin for any and all loss or damage, and any claim or demands therefore on account of injury to me or my property or resulting in my death, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Party or otherwise while I am participating in the event and whether caused by the negligence of the Released Party or otherwise. I further expressly agree that the foregoing release, waiver and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted, that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
Participant(s) who win the team trophy hereby agrees to return the trophy for the next ASCE race the following year. Winner is also responsible for any and all damages to the Grand Prize trophy, and will be responsible for replacing the trophy if necessary.
