[Details] [Coverage] [10K Results] [2 Mile Results]

On a cool morning that saw starting temperatures hover near the 60 degree mark, Tony Basta and Larry Taylor grabbed the lead within the first 200 yards. Basta and Taylor remained together through the first mile. As the course rolled up its first hill, crossing the bridge over the Ohio River, Basta began to pull away from Taylor. By the time they reached the turnaround point, Basta had grabbed a solid 30-40 second cushion. He continued to apply pressure and extended his lead throughout the race on his way to a 1:14 victory with an outstanding time of 32:33. Basta's time was the fastest 10K by an in-state runner on an in-state course this year.

On the women's side, Monica Vannest gradually increased her lead over Parkersburg South runner Rachel Fox. Vannest lead by roughly 30 seconds at the turnaround and extended the lead to nearly 2:00 by the finish.
