Top 3
All smiles for the top three runners
A great weekend of weather with race day conditions starting out in the 40's but finishing in the high 60's. Regardless, the 14.9-mile Ultimate Road Test is one tough race with a non-stop series of one hill after another.

Finishing first overall was the 53-years-young Terry McCluskey of Vienna, OH who clocked a 1:29:47. Second place went to last year's winner George Axiotis of Warren, OH who finished this year at 1:31:38, a half-minute off his previous time. Rounding out the top three was Bloomingdale, OH's Ty Puskarich with a time of 1:35:03, possibly the fastest time ever by a Harrison County Resident. Jane Thompson of Akron OH was the highest placing woman with a time of 1:54:59.

The Legend
Terry Whitecotton puts his best foot forward for second place
In this year's walk Wheeling, WV's Terry Whitecotton had to settle for second again even after taking almost 20 minutes off his 2000 time. His 2:40:48 was eclipsed by Penn Hills, PA's Steve Bence who took 26 minutes off the walking course record with a time of 2:24:30.

The Ultimate Test Taker Award went to Rick Evans of Canton, OH who has now competed in all 19 Ultimate Road Test events.

Many thanks for the generosity extended by race sponsors and the local businesses that provided door prizes including: Finish Line, Brechbuhler Scales (Canton OH), Hole-n-Run (Wheeling WV), Runners Connection (Bellaire OH), Polar Heart Monitors, Chums, and Runners World Magazine. A good time was had by all with Domino's Pizza and Pepsi Products providing after party refreshments.
