The $10,000 in prize money will pay out 4 prize categories. Teams are encouraged!
The 10K (6.2 mile) course has been certified and sanctioned by USA Track and Field and will consist of two loops through the residential and business districts.
The 10K course is rolling with short hills. Participants will take Main Street to Hardee's near the Joyce Street Exit; turn left on Marshall; another left on Pike Street at the Red Caboose; follow Pike St.; Take a left onto Chestnut; and another left back onto Main. Repeat the Course. The finish line is near the Harrison County Courthouse on Main Street.
The Clarksburg Police Department will provide traffic control with the help of local volunteers. The entire course will be closed to traffic from 8:00 - 11:00 am.
Course Rules
In accordance with the rules and guidelines issued by USA Track and Field It is the intent of the race crew to furnish the safest possible race course. Those who participate in violation of these rules will be disqualified and removed from the course. The guidelines further state "foot runners and authorized vehicles have the right-of-way at all times." No strollers, headphones, bicycles or roller blades are permitted on the course.
Kids K . Starts at 10:30 am.

All participants will receive a race number, shirt, and participation award. Please read, acknowledge and sign the waiver on the application form. A separate application is required for each child.

Post-Race Massage
Massage will be available to runners pre and post race and will be provided by Valarie Dunlevy, a nationally certified massage therapist, and friends.
Timing . Results
Computer timing services will be provided. Participants will attach the Champion Computer Chip to their shoe prior to the race and turn it in at the finish line. The chip gives 5k splits and times throughout the course. Results will be posted at the award ceremony located at the Awards Ceremony.
Honoring Cecil Jarvis
The Greater Clarksburg 10K has been named after Cecil Jarvis. He was truly a unique individual . . . a "one-of-a-kind". His multi-faceted life included being a lawyer, a newspaper publisher, an athlete, a community advocate, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a friend.
