Been working on this shot looking straight up at the tree tops and I finally got a shot that I think is a winner.

| Can a fungus be beautiful or just interesting |
Some sort of bracket fungus that just happened to be catching some nice evening light.

| A budding rhododendron in mid-winter |
I'm not sure the life-cycle of the rhododendron but it seems odd to see these buds out in the middle of winter. If you've never been in a dense rhododendron patch while they are in full bloom you are missing out. Chances are I'll try to photograph the scene a few times this spring.
