After cooking a nice breakfast this morning it was off to try and photograph the icy outdoors.
| The sun shines through the frozen trees |
It was actually not as easy as I thought it would be to get some good shots of the ice covering just about everything
| A tree branch encased in ice |
This was about the best I came up with as far as a closeup of the ice on the trees
| Buds on a blue spruce frozen in ice |
These frozen blue spruce buds are interesting but somehow just not that exciting.
| A rock coated in a layer of ice |
How about a rock covered in ice? This really is pretty interesting especially if you click on the image and look at it full size. I love rocks but they just don't seem to make very good subjects for photos.
| Icicles hang on a small red granary building |
You can't go wrong with a picture of icicles and I thought this red building made for a nice background.
| A drop of water falls from a melting icicle |
Capturing the melting icicles was quite tricky and these two attempts were the best I could do.
| Another drop of water falling from a melting icicle |
This drop of water is in a little better in focus but not as close up.
| The east facing side of our house covered in icicles |
Okay, I think we've had about enough of this so I'll just leave you with the side of our house covered in icicles.
