Olympic paddlers on the Upper

The Gauley River has long been considered an icon of legendary proportion in the minds of whitewater enthusiasts around the world and a proving grounds for the expert paddlers. The Gauley's rugged scenery and clean waters rank it among the best whitewater rivers in the world. On September 7, racers from all over the nation raced downriver on it's Class V rapids to finish at Sweets Falls, the last of "The Big Five."
