Welcome again to beautiful Elkins, West Virginia for the 9th Annual Kenneth Cunningham 5-K Memorial Cross-Country Run held on Saturday, August 18. Our race features a team concept of men's and women's teams of mixed ages. Teams will be randomly picked once registration closes. Each team selects a team captain, a team name and let the fun begin. (Middle School and High School Cross-Country runners will be excluded for our team event.) The 5-K course has challenging turns in the upper trail that winds throughout a cool, wooded area, and the lower trail includes two wide streams to cross on the way to the finish line.

** MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNERS WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM OUR TEAM CONCEPT **

Registration/Fees:

  • Pre-Register, get your [Entry Form]
  • Race day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. for the day's activities
  • FREE - 400 meter run
  • $8.00- Trail walk and 1/2 mile Cross-Country Run
  • $12.00- 5-K run before Monday, 08/13/07, $15.00 08/13/07 and day of the race.
  • All Proceeds benefit Elkins Cross Country Teams (Middle and High School)

Event Times:
  • 2-mile Trail Walk Race - 8:00 a.m.
  • 400-meter Run (kids 7 yrs. & younger) - 8:45 a.m.
  • 1/2 mile Mini Cross Country Run (kids 8 -11 yrs. old) - 9:15 a.m.
  • 5K Cross Country Run - 10:00 a.m.
  • 5K Note: The 5-K cross-country run will once again feature an individual/team concept with the teams for the men and women being randomly picked after "last minute registration" closes.

Awards/Prizes: Door prizes will be given after event! RIBBONS TO ALL THAT PARTICIPATE! Overall winners in each race will be excluded from placing in the age divisions. All finishers will receive a ribbon and door prizes will be given to random participants.

WALKER AWARDS: 1ST & 2ND PLACE MEN'S & WOMEN'S AGES 19 & UNDER, 20 TO 39, AND 40+

KIDS EVENTS: 1ST PLACE FOR EACH EVENT AND MEDALS TO THE REMAINING PARTICIPANTS

RUNNING AWARDS: 1S AND 2ND PLACE OVERALL MALE AND FEMALE WINNERS ** 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD IN EACH AGE DIVISION
