Whatever your age, living well means doing the best you can. Since 1994, The West Virginia Senior Sports Classic has provided a way for active senior athletes in our region to do their best against their peers-in three fun-filled days of sports events in Charleston, West Virginia.

It's one of the city's largest sports events -- rich in laughter, inspiring performance and energizing competition. And it's the only way senior athletes from our area can qualify for the National Senior Games.

Some athletes are rigorous sports enthusiasts. Others just play for fun. Whatever your reason, join the competition.

The West Virginia Senior Sports Classic began in Huntington in 1992 with a few athletes playing tennis and basketball. From that meager beginning, 20 athletes competed in the Baton Rouge National Games in 1993 winning a gold medal in basketball, age 60 to 65, and a bronze in mixed doubles tennis. Since then the movement has grown to include over 1400 participating athletes.
