Course: The 15-miler is challenging and scenic. The course takes racers through downtown, rolls through the beautiful hillside neighborhoods around the West Virginia Capitol, then flattens out along the city's riverfront. The 5K course is flat and heads through downtown and along the riverfront, starting and ending at the same location as the 15-Miler.

Schedule-FRIDAY, AUGUST 31
5pm - 8pm - Verizon Pasta Party, Civic Center. A pasta dinner complete with beverages, dessert, and musical entertainment. Your ticket will be enclosed in your race packet. Guests will pay $4.00 at the door. Children, under 12, are free. No one will be admitted without a ticket.
7pm - 8pm - SportMart Runners Clinic, Civic Center. Free to all. Door prizes will be awarded and shoe company representatives will be displaying their newest footwear. The featured speaker will be John L. Parker, Jr.
Schedule-SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1
6:00am to 7:15am - Final packet and timing chip pick up at the Civic Center.
7:30am - 15 MILE RACE BEGINS. Starting line is at the corner of Virginia Street, East and Civic Center Drive. Parking is available at the Civic Center Parking Garage. The race will finish at Laidley Field, and buses will be available to transport runners back to the Civic Center free of charge.
7:40am - 5K RACE BEGINS. All runners are to line up behind the 15 Mile runners, at the corner of Virginia Street, East and Civic Center Drive.
9am - 5K Awards (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) Presentation, under the North Stands (interstate side) at Laidley Field.
11am - Post Race Cool Down, Civic Center Lobby. Plenty of liquids and fruits. Free to runners and guests.
Noon - Awards Banquet, Civic Center. Free to runners; guests will pay $8.00 at the door. Delicious food with beverages.
12:30pm - Awards Presentation for the 15 Mile Race, Civic Center. 5K runners also invited.
