Traveling to Morgantown, WV for the Oklahoma game? Run this nearby race in Fairmont, WV the next day before returning home.
Expected field size is 150. Walker friendly with 3 hour time limit in half marathon. Awards to first female walker in 5K and first male walker in 5K. No separate awards for walkers in half marathon. Starts at 12 NOON.

- Half Marathon
Trophies to top 3 females in half marathon & to top 3 males in half marathon. Awards for age groups 3 deep except as noted: female 0-19 (1), 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 (1), 60-99 (1) male 0-19 (1), 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 (1), 70-99 (1)
- 5K Run

Courses
Both races feature level rail trail courses. Both courses are closed to traffic. Half marathon starts on dirt road, turns onto rail trail after 1st half mile. Double out and back. Half marathon turn around area is dirt surface, 90% paved. 5K is out and back on paved portion of rail trail.
Water Stops + Aid Stations
Seven opportunities for water in half marathon. One water stop at 5K turnaround for 5K entrants. Bathrooms at the town hall.

Directions
- From the north - Morgantown, WV or Pittsburgh, PA etc.
Take I-79 to exit 132, get in the right lane to US 250 towards Fairmont. Travel .8 mile and turn left on Holbert Road, County Road 250/20. Go 1.2 miles and turn left at the 3 way stop on the Old Monongah Road / County Road 56. Travel .7 mile and at another 3 way stop, turn right and cross the bridge. Go another .7 mile. Total distance from I-79 to the race site is about 3.4 miles.
- From the south - Clarksburg, WV or Charleston, WV, etc.
Take I-79 to exit 132, get in the left lane to US 250 towards Fairmont. Travel 1.1 miles and turn left on Holbert Road, County Road 250/20. Go 1.2 miles and turn left at the 3 way stop on the Old Monongah Road / County Road 56. Travel .7 mile and at another 3 way stop, turn right and cross the bridge. Go another .7 mile. Total distance from I-79 to the race site is about 3.7 miles.
- Coming from Fairmont, WV
Take US 19 to Monongah. Turn left at the Monongah Middle School by the sign for the West Fork Rail Trail. Turn left at the bottom of the hill and cross the bridge.
- Coming from Shinnston, WV
Take US 19 to Monongah. Turn right at the Monongah Middle School by the sign for the West Fork Rail Trail. Turn left at the bottom of the hill and cross the bridge.
Lodging
With West Virginia University hosting Oklahoma in football on November 17, lodging will be scarce within a 50 mile radius. Make plans early or plan to stay more than 50 miles away the night before. The races start at 12 noon.
