Come out and enjoy a foot tour of beautiful, downtown Buckhannon this spring at the BUMS Run 5k hosted by the Young Bucs Association! Proceeds from the race benefit the WVU Children's Hospital's Cure Kids Cancer Fund and local participating youth organizations. Lace up your sneakers to celebrate an abundance of great causes! 2014 Registration

- $20 Registration Fee for runners and walkers, as well as participants in the Kids Run. The fee will increase to $25 on race day. All mailed entries must be postmarked no later than April 15th or be received by Friday April 18th to be considered.
- $5 of each registration goes directly to the WVU Cure Kids Cancer Fund and another $5 is donated to a local youth organization of your choice! Just pick who receives your donation on the registration form!
- Free t-shirt guaranteed to all participants who pre-register by April 9, 2014
- Race Day Registration/ Packet Pick-up will be held at Jawbone Park in Buckhannon from 7:30-9:00 am.
- 5K Race starts at 10am for both runners and walkers. The Kids Run will be held prior to the 5K at 9:30am.
- Make checks payable to the "Young Bucs Association"
- No bikes, rollerblades, or other "wheeled" devices allowed. Dogs and strollers are welcome in the race, but we ask that both start near the back of the line to allow more competitive runners in the front. All dogs must be kept on a leash. Thank you for your help with these matters!
NEW THIS YEAR!!! We've got more fun for the whole family!
Kids Fun Run & Easter Egg Hunt!! Children 9 & under are welcomed to participate in the our Kids Run. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a finisher's prize! Parents are welcome to accompany small children along the course. Registration timeline and fees are the same as 5K. Parents- feel free to sign your child up online at the link provided above!!! The Kids Run will start at 9:30am prior to the 5K. While mom and dad are running their miles, kids may participate in an Easter Egg Hunt & Costume Contest at Jawbone Park! The hunt starts at approximately 10am as our 5K runners hit the pavement. All kids 9 & under are welcome to "hunt" as long as they have their race bib on!
And don't forget to come dressed in your favorite spring/Easter costume and have some more fun! Costume participants will compete in 2 age groups (5 & under) and (6-9 yrs.). Each group will have one winner who will receive a prize!!
Proceeds for the Kids Run and Egg Hunt help support the BAES 2nd Grade in their upcoming spring field trip- another great reason to run!
Classic Car Show! Come out to see some of the best hotrods in the area on race day! Cars will be displayed at Rob's Fitness Factory throughout the morning. Want to show off your ride too? Registration will be at Rob's Fitness Factory from 8:00am to 9:30, with judging taking place from 10am-12pm. Entry is $10 a car and awards will be given!
Course
The race will be a loop course with the start and finish at Jawbone Park. The course is mostly flat with a few small grades as you make your way to the river trail and back through the town's neighborhoods.
Awards
Awards will be given to the top 3 males and females overall. The top two male/female finishers in the following age groups will also receive an award:
10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up
